The Mestano is 5 5/8 inches in overall length, with a 2 1/4 inch blade. The blade is a flat ground, drop point from AEB-L stainless steel. The Mestano has been cryogenically quenched during the heat treating process for optimal edge holding ability and Rockwell tests at 63 RC. This knife has a dyed and stabilized Green Box Elder handle with mosaic pins. This Mestano comes with a Horizontal sheath for right hand wear. If you choose to order an additional sheath, you will receive BOTH sheaths. The one that is built already, and the additional one we will build for you.
The Slotted Sheath is an ideal sheath for riding. It is designed to be carried in the front in a cross draw fashion, whether your right handed or left handed. The sheath may also be worn behind the hip. The great advantage to this sheath, is that it can be worn 360 degrees on the belt. The Slotted sheath is worn under the belt for added security and comfort. This sheath cannot be tooled. All Horsewright sheaths are done in an Oil Tan finish.
The Horizontal Sheath was designed for comfortable, secure, all day carry. You will forget that you have this sheath/knife on your belt, until it's needed. It is designed primarily for cross draw carry, however it can also be worn on or behind the hip. This sheath cannot be tooled. All Horsewright sheaths are done in an Oil Tan finish.
The Pancake Sheath is designed to be carried in the front, on the hip, or in the small of the back ("SOB"Style). All Horsewright sheaths are done in an Oil Tan finish. The Pancake sheath can be tooled with your initials or brand.
