This Gordo is a perfect knife for constant, everyday carry. It has an overall length of 5 3/8 inches, with a blade length of 2 1/8 inches. Despite its small size, this knife is comfortable in even the largest hands. The blade is a flat ground, drop point from 26C3 high carbon steel. This steel has been clay coated and differentially heat treated to produce a working hamon (the line of demarcation on the blade). This knife has been heat treated to 64 on the Rockwell scale for extreme edge holding ability. Yet even at this extreme hardness, 26C3 remains easy to re sharpen. It is handled in Ironwood. This knife has a brass bolster that separates the blade from the handle. Mosaic pins have been added to the handle. It comes with a right hand, Pancake sheath, with Carlos border stamping. If you choose to order an additional sheath, you will receive BOTH sheaths. The one that is built already, and the additional one we will build for you.
The Gordo Sheath is available with the Gordo model only. This sheath is the ultimate way of carrying your Gordo knife. Completely unobtrusive, very comfortable and secure for everyday carry. You will forget you have it on. This sheath is designed to carry only in the front, in a cross draw fashion. The Gordo sheath is made for an 1 1/2" wide belt. Tooling options include Small Border Stamp or Basket Stamp. All Horsewright sheaths come in an Oil Tan finish.
The Vertical Pancake Sheath is designed to be carried on the hip, or behind the hip, on either side. All Horsewright sheaths are done in an Oil Tan finish. The Vertical Pancake sheath can be tooled with a border or basket stamp.
This design is unique to Horsewright. It solves the age old problem of "how do you carry a fixed blade knife without wearing a belt?" Constructed from the finest leather, this sheath allows the wearer to carry a small fixed blade knife with or without a belt. Lined tabs snap around adjacent belt loops to provide a secure, comfortable attachment. All Horsewright sheaths are done in an Oil Tan finish.
